Soccer as a Platform for Inclusivity: Bringing Together 1,300 Youth From Over 100+ Schools in Greater Boston

Client: Communication via Design

Project: Soccer Unity Project

Role: Graphic Design

Brand Positioning

  • Following 14 years of driving equitable and inclusive soccer programming, South End Soccer and Boston Unity Cup merged to form Soccer Unity Project—a new entity designed to scale collective impact throughout the community.

  • The Soccer Unity Project is a Boston-based non-profit dedicated to harnessing the power of soccer as a unifying force, creating inclusive, accessible programs that build community, break down social barriers, and empower youth through camaraderie and mentorship.

Brand Vision

  • Soccer Unity Project envisions a world where every youth, regardless of background, gender, or race, has equal access to soccer and the life-changing opportunities it brings—on and off the field.

Target Audience

  • Youth ages 5–18 from underserved and marginalized communities.

  • Parents, guardians, community leaders, and local organizations who value the power of sport to transform lives.

  • Donors, sponsors, and partners seeking to invest in inclusive youth development programs.

Visual Identity

  • Co-created with Communication via Design, the final Soccer Unity Project logo was intentionally crafted to reflect the organization’s core values of unity, connection, and community-building. The circular mark serves as a subtle nod to the global language of soccer while avoiding a literal depiction, ensuring the brand remains flexible and symbolic across platforms.

Marketing Results

  • My design concept was selected from multiple rounds of concepts presented to the client and developed into the final logo identity.

  • The Soccer Unity Project identity has empowered the organization to establish a unified online brand presence across its website, social media channels, and email marketing in addition to advocating for its numerous youth soccer initiatives as well as signature events: Boston Unity Cup and Unity Ball.
