The Vampire Blood Drive is a one-of-a-kind event merging philanthropy with dark romanticism. Conceptualized by the 273-year-old vampire Koven, the event reimagines the blood donation experience into an unforgettable, gothic-infused evening of elegance and altruism.

Guests are invited to Corvin Castle for a black-tie affair where they donate blood willingly, in exchange for an opulent dining experience steeped in mystery, myth, and Romanian culture.

Developing a brand strategy for Koven involved designing a cohesive, visual identity that captured Koven’s refined taste, honors gothic traditions, and supports the dual purpose of encouraging voluntary blood donation and delivering a memorable experience.

Refined: Every detail—from the invitation to the cutlery—is chosen with care. The brand exudes sophistication, favoring ornate flourishes and timeless design rooted in Gothic tradition.

Visual Identity

The Koven logo blends romantic, traditional Gothic aesthetics with a contemporary twist. Set in a modern blackletter typeface, it’s complemented by a hand-painted rendition of the red cross with dripping blood. These logos can be used independently or co-branded as needed.

Koven approved a classic vampire-inspired color scheme with deep black and crimson red. Design elements, including ornate scrollwork, blood splatters, and vertical menu typography to mimic blood drips, support the overall visual theme and gothic aesthetic. The menu features custom-written descriptions, offering selections inspired by the cuisine of Romania, fitting for the vampire theme.

Blood drive invitations were sent in envelopes stamped with the distinctive Koven wax seal, opening into a cross shape to reinforce the blood drive theme and set the tone for the event.
